Sometimes traveling little bit out of your normal routine to shoot just seems to be the right recipe for your soul...and this was the shoot for me. Photographing an amazing family as well as finishing up Jacob's senior session was enough to remind me of how much I love my job!
Upon arriving at Carpinteria State Beach, I was warmly welcomed by this wonderful family...smiles, laughter, and evident love filled the salty air as we made our way down to the water for our shoot. I was told how they come to Carpinteria every year to reunite with family from all over California to spend the week soaking up the sun and having fun.
It's families like The Rode's that make you want to grab your RV, sunscreen and s'mores and take your family camping! After all, spending time with family is always a good thing.
Thank you, Rode family, for being such an inspiration for family time!

For those of you just visiting for the first time, welcome! My name
is julie weaver and I am a Southern California based photographer. I have been a professional photographer for the past 10 years and have specialized in weddings and portraits.
Having a family of my own, I understand the importance of capturing those little moments that seem to flash before our eyes....the quirky smiles, the scrunchy noses, the temper tantrums, the interaction that takes place between you and your child....and even those wonderful teenage years...it's priceless and gone before you know it! I am THAT person who gets to capture those silly and precious moments that you love so much. That's why I absolutely LOVE my job!
Thanks for stopping by!

I am so excited to announce my first ever casting call for children between the ages of 4-8. As some of you may know, I am part of an amazing photography workshop called "Get tha Funk Out" in which we (4 fab & funky photogs) are holding (check out our site here). In this workshop, we are holding a live photo shoot for our attendees. We are recruiting young children, high school seniors, a family, and an engaged couple. I am in charge of recruiting the darling children!
I KNOW there will be so many cuties to choose from, but here are some general characteristics I am looking for:

Monica Tatman:
Julie,
I am Kim Williams (Tatman's) sister-in-law. She told me about your recruiting little ones and wanted me to offer up my 3 and 5 year old. They are beautiful little hams, just like Aunt Kim. Charlie is a 3 yr. old brown hair, blue eyed girl and Trevor is 5 with the same coloring. Kim or I can send you photos if you are still looking. Have a great day!

Well, I have been glued to my computer completely and utterly obsessed with this tiny bundle of loveliness!
Meet Jake Ryan. He is the lucky little guy belonging to my friends and past clients Dave and Jen. I have been so excited to meet him and finally had the opportunity to yesterday. What a sweet, sweet boy. A perfect concoction of mom and dad. You know, daddy's family gene sure is strong, so I am proud of Jen that she managed to get some of hers in there, too!
Enjoy!
Jake's room is decorated in a "world traveler's" theme...amazing!
...and the proud parents!
