Last night was an AB-SOL-UTE blast!
Melissa and Mike got married at the Hacienda in Santa Ana.
They met on a missions trip through their church. They were traveling to Mexicali and Mike actually thought Melissa was a high school student!!!
The rest is history..
They couln't be more perfect for each other!
Shannon Lott was my second shooter for me and aside from her sharp eye and great personality, we always seem to have so much fun together and laugh together throughout the day...what else could I ask for???!!!
I also had the pleasure of working with Peter Merry from Merry Weddings and Jeff from Elysium Productions...we had a great night!
Melissa and Mike's love was evident from the minute I met them and saw their connection!
I am honored to show you a re-cap from their day....
Through my eyes...
The Ring:

Melissa applying the final touches...

Melissa was a gorgeous bride! She was so relaxed and ready for what was to come.
I love when my clients put all of their trust in me because it makes the portraits GENUINE & NATURAL...exactly what every photographer strives for in their career.

When Mike and his groomsmen showed up, they were ready to roll!
Again, very relaxed...

Here are some of my favorites that I shot of just Mike and Melissa. Things were running a little late, and we literally only had 10 minutes to shoot their romantics. I am so happy with what we got!!!

Melissa's grandparents...I can only DREAM of having this picture of my own grandparents...they look SO mischievous!!!!

Details:

O.K...Now her is the best part of the evening: Peter Merry, of Merry Weddings, is THE MOST AWESOME wedding disc jockey... EVER!!!!!
Let me tell you why....
Not only have I worked with him in the past, but he makes every one of his clients' wedding receptions unique by personalizing things like the grand entrance with funny (no, HILARIOUS) digs to all of the bridal party, and then even manages to have fun with the bride and groom in such a way that Peter has the ENTIRE room rolling in laughter!
Check out the bride and groom cracking up before their grand entrance....

Then, the funniest part of the evening...
Not only does he play the most amazing songs for dancing, he manages to pull this off:
When it was time for the garter toss, he did something that I have NEVER seen an entertainer pull off...
He used one of Mike's saved voicemails that Melissa had left for him one night...be careful of what you say on someone's cell phone!!!
Well, Mike had saved it especially for the garter toss and let me tell you...it was HIL-AR-I-OUS!!!!!
Listen to the voice-over and then check out the funny shots I got while the voice-over was playing:

THANKS goes out to PETER MERRY for making their reception exceptional!
You can see how happy Melissa is with his uncompromising work!

Then, to end the night perfectly, Melissa and Mike had the sparkler exit...
They are so happy!!!!

Troy and Stacy got married at Arroyo Trabuco Country Club and it was a lot of fun for me to get to hang with them throughout the day!
Here are some of my fav's from the day!

Hi
As newly registered user i only wanted to say hello to everyone else who uses this forum :-D
Yesterday I had the priviledge to shoot jennifer and jesse's wedding in Claremont at The Seaver House. It is a historical home located in the beautiful downtown village of Claremont. Built in 1900 and gifted to Pomona College in 1980, the Seaver House is only reserved for Alumni-related events.
I was fortunate enough to be a part of this event. Jennifer's father is a well respected professor at Pomona College.
The alumni staff as well as the catering staff were a dream to work for and ran a first class show to say the least!!!
Here are some of my favorite's from the day...the ceremony was held at Our Lady of Assumption Church, pictures were taken on and around Pomona College as well as The Seaver House! So much fun, since it is prohibited for photographers to photograph on the grounds (unless, of course, you are alumni)...you will see why...
The Seaver House in all it's glory:

This may be one of my all-time favorites. Jen was sitting there on the couch talking to her daughter, Megan and calming her nerves before the wedding. Here it is, Jen's wedding day, and all she was focused on was her daughter's feelings at the moment. Wow...for those of you who are parents out there, I know you can see the impact in this picture and can relate. Hopefully those of you who aren't parents can see it, too! :-)

Little Megan was up at the alter with her mommy and was dressed like a little bride herself!

The happy family:

The architecture is amazing here in this little sheltered city of Claremont!
If you haven't visited the Claremont Colleges, check it out. There are 5 private universities tucked away in this college town...may remind you of an ivy league college town back east...O.K...I am a little biased, I admit. I grew up in Claremont and love it's small town charm. Can't find that many places these days!

Jen is a dead-ringer for Drew Barrymore...beautifully elegant!

This next shot is one that my training assistant, Elana, took!!!
Way to go! I L-O-V-E it!!

I had to throw this shot of her sweet shoes! H-O-T !!!

Josh Goodman was my second shooter on this wedding (www.joshgoodman.com), and can't wait to see all the cool shots he took!
Thanks Josh and Elana!
Weddings at Ponte Winery are always beautiful. This one was no exception!
My clients, julie & eric were awesome! Here are some of my favorites from their day!
Their D.J., Peter Merry, form Merry Weddings was absolutely the most entertaining D.J. I have ever witnessed! He had the crowd interested and EXCITED for julie & eric ALL NIGHT LONG!
Magnolia flower shop did a beautiful job, as always! Allison (the owner) is always so easy and fun to work with!

As I started to look through all of my favorite photographs from 2006, I decided to put them together into a slideshow.
It is so exciting to re-cap every one of those events....
Enjoy the slideshow!!!
Julie, your new blog site looks fantastic!! The images of the baby were beautiful, my favs are the window lit pictures sooo cute... I have to say I am a little emotional right now being that I am pregnant, but that slide show brought tears to my eyes. I love your work, to me a great photographer captures all those precious moments for that one special day and I have to say you truly capture them I feel like I am right there seeing it too.. Keep putting new pics up I love to see your latest work Nicole (P.S when are you going to start teaching photography lessons?) hmmm something to think about he he Take care Nicole

Those pictures look fantastic. You can definitely see the art work in this photography.
I have seen Peter's work from video, and he is amazing. He has helped me improve my performance as a DJ as well.
Thanks for sharing.
(05.21.07)I had so much fun shooting with you! Your photos are awesome! I hope we can do it again soon. Thanks again for letting me share in another one of your amazing weddings with another beautiful couple!
(05.22.07)Great work Julie. It was a fun event and a great crowd! Hope to work together again soon.
(05.28.07)Julie Weaver is absolutely, positively, freakin' amazing! We haven't even got our pictures back yet and we are already in love with her work. Her blog of us is very cute and creative (i guess that kinda sounds gay coming from a guy... oh well!) and her art is second to Divinci :) She is brilliant and if you don't have a photographer yet and are still looking ... you will get every single pennies worth having Julie as your photographer. Everyone loved our DVD slide show on the back table during the wedding!!! This is the most important day of your life ... don't settle for less ... you deserve to have Julie make the memories of your wedding last forever!!! Thanks Julie :)
